11 School Days to go...

Here's what we did today:

LA 8B - Today, we discussed the difference between literal and figurative sentences. We looked for examples in the storybook, The Fantastic Flying Books of Morris Lessmore.

LA 8E - Today, we watched the film adaptation of The Fantastic Flying Books of Morris Lessmore,” by William Joyce. We looked for examples of symbols and what they could mean.

Social 9A - We continued to work on our chapter 9 research project. It is due Thursday, so please be sure that you are catching up at home if needed! 
US Tariffs CE due June 18th (This is the LAST CE of the year!) 

Social 9E - Today, we continued to work on our chapter 9 research project. Due Friday!
US Tariffs CE due June 18th (This is the LAST CE of the year!)

Here's what we did today:  LA 8B  -  Today, we showcased our Genius Hour projects to the class. We completed a self-reflection on how we felt we did. We also started a research assignment (in pairs) for the novel we will start after Spring Break, The Boy in the Striped Pajamas. LA 8E -   Today, we had our free reading block in the library and also spent a block working on our Genius Hour assignments. Please make sure they are complete for Tuesday. *You will NOT have class time on Monday. Social 9A  - Today, we completed a formative quiz on economics and started a case study assignment about the Canadian entertainment industry (On Google Classroom - due Monday).  Chapter 6 assessment - Wednesday, March 21st Italy's Election CE due MONDAY!    *Don't forget about Homeroom Wars on March 21st! Wednesday, May 22nd

Here's what happened today:  Social 8A and 8C:  Today, we read about how Japan responded to all the pressure to open their borders. Please review pages 177-179 if needed.  Social 8G:  Today, we talked about the strict roles in Japanese society, including the samurai code of Bushido.  Social  9B:  Today, we continued watching the documentary film, Sicko, which presents some of the differences between public and private health care systems.  All Students: WEM Activity Day Permission Forms are now on Powerschool. Please fill out ASAP to ensure a spot!  Important Dates Coming Up: Friday, May 31st - Activity Day @ WEM Wednesday, June 5th - Early Dismissal and ALL CE DUE
