Tuesday, February 6th

Here's what we did today: 

LA 8B -  Today, we completed a reading comprehension about astronauts walking on the moon. Marks will be on Powerschool later today!

LA 8E -  Today, we completed a Figurative Language Review. We discussed Hyperbole, Personification and Simile/Metaphor. Catch up on your grammar booklet (up to unit 10.4) for Monday!

Social 9A -Today, we wrote the chapter 4 assessment - check Powerschool later today for results! We also had our Current Event block.

Important Dates Coming Up: 
Wednesday, February 7th - FLEX Day/Early Dismissal
Thursday-Friday February 8-9 - No school for Teacher's Convention

Here's what happened today:  Social 8A and 8C:  Today, we read about how Japan responded to all the pressure to open their borders. Please review pages 177-179 if needed.  Social 8G:  Today, we talked about the strict roles in Japanese society, including the samurai code of Bushido.  Social  9B:  Today, we continued watching the documentary film, Sicko, which presents some of the differences between public and private health care systems.  All Students: WEM Activity Day Permission Forms are now on Powerschool. Please fill out ASAP to ensure a spot!  Important Dates Coming Up: Friday, May 31st - Activity Day @ WEM Wednesday, June 5th - Early Dismissal and ALL CE DUE
