All classes - Top Ten News Stories from 2015 (due December 10th)

 Instructions
1. Stories must have occurred between January 1st and December 9th, 2015
2. Choose 10 that you think made the most impact, from around the world  - any genre or topic
3. Use Google Slides, Prezi, a video or create a poster
4. Include article (print off or provide link)
5. Complete a summary of the article (5Ws and 1H) and then a reflection - why do you think each event/story should be on your top ten list! 


Social 8B  - please finish filling out your chart on the powerful city-state of Florence and the Medici family (pages 34-36)

Social 8H - please finish filling out you chat about the powerful city-state of Florence (pages 34-35) *We will talk about the family section on Tuesday

Social 8E - please finish filling out your chart on the powerful city-state of Florence and the Medici family (pages 34-36)

Social 9A - Chapter 1 project due TOMORROW; Chapter 1 Test TOMORROW

Social 9G -  Chapter 1 project due TOMORROW; Chapter 1 Test TOMORROW

9G - please bring in magazine and cookie dough orders! Remember each order you bring in will reduce your costs for the Christmas Activity Day :)
Also, bring in a baby picture (1-3yrs old) for our Guess the Baby bulletin board!

Here's what happened today:  Social 8A and 8C:  Today, we read about how Japan responded to all the pressure to open their borders. Please review pages 177-179 if needed.  Social 8G:  Today, we talked about the strict roles in Japanese society, including the samurai code of Bushido.  Social  9B:  Today, we continued watching the documentary film, Sicko, which presents some of the differences between public and private health care systems.  All Students: WEM Activity Day Permission Forms are now on Powerschool. Please fill out ASAP to ensure a spot!  Important Dates Coming Up: Friday, May 31st - Activity Day @ WEM Wednesday, June 5th - Early Dismissal and ALL CE DUE
