Here's what happened today: 

Social 8A: Today, we finished watching a video: The Age of the Shoguns. 
Chapter 4 assessment: Monday, May 13th.
Cathedral in Flames CE due May 10th

Social 8C: Today, we watched a documentary about Edo Japan: The Age of the Shoguns. Chapter 4 assessment: Monday, May 13th.

Social 8G: Today, we started our new unit: Japan. We read about Japanese creation stories and how they were known as the land of the rising dun.

Social 9B: Today, we watched a documentary, Made in Bangladesh about the Rana Plaza factory collapse in 2013. Chapter 7 assessment: Wednesday!

Here's what happened today:  Social 8A and 8C:  Today, we read about how Japan responded to all the pressure to open their borders. Please review pages 177-179 if needed.  Social 8G:  Today, we talked about the strict roles in Japanese society, including the samurai code of Bushido.  Social  9B:  Today, we continued watching the documentary film, Sicko, which presents some of the differences between public and private health care systems.  All Students: WEM Activity Day Permission Forms are now on Powerschool. Please fill out ASAP to ensure a spot!  Important Dates Coming Up: Friday, May 31st - Activity Day @ WEM Wednesday, June 5th - Early Dismissal and ALL CE DUE

LAST BLOG of the YEAR!!!

Thank you, everyone, for the incredible year at ELJHS. As most of you know, this is my last year here as I am moving into administration at Ecole Champs Vallee in Beaumont in September.  I wish you all the best, wherever life takes you.
