Here's what happened today: 

Social 8A: Today, we continued to work on our Popular Culture projects. They are due Monday. 
Chapter 4 assessment: Monday, May 13th.
Cathedral in Flames CE due May 10th

Social 8C: Today, we started working on a Popular culture of Edo Japan project. It is on google Classroom and is due Monday.  
Chapter 4 assessment: Monday, May 13th.

Social 8G: Today, we talked about the beauty of Japan's natural elements, including cherry blossom trees.

Social 9B: Today, we wrote our chapter 7 assessment. 
Chapter 7 assessment: Wednesday!

Wednesday, May 22nd

Here's what happened today:  Social 8A and 8C:  Today, we read about how Japan responded to all the pressure to open their borders. Please review pages 177-179 if needed.  Social 8G:  Today, we talked about the strict roles in Japanese society, including the samurai code of Bushido.  Social  9B:  Today, we continued watching the documentary film, Sicko, which presents some of the differences between public and private health care systems.  All Students: WEM Activity Day Permission Forms are now on Powerschool. Please fill out ASAP to ensure a spot!  Important Dates Coming Up: Friday, May 31st - Activity Day @ WEM Wednesday, June 5th - Early Dismissal and ALL CE DUE

LAST BLOG of the YEAR!!!

Thank you, everyone, for the incredible year at ELJHS. As most of you know, this is my last year here as I am moving into administration at Ecole Champs Vallee in Beaumont in September.  I wish you all the best, wherever life takes you.
