TGI... Friday, March 16th

Here's what we did today: 

LA 8B -  Today, we showcased our Genius Hour projects to the class. We completed a self-reflection on how we felt we did. We also started a research assignment (in pairs) for the novel we will start after Spring Break, The Boy in the Striped Pajamas.

LA 8E -  Today, we had our free reading block in the library and also spent a block working on our Genius Hour assignments. Please make sure they are complete for Tuesday. *You will NOT have class time on Monday.

Social 9A - Today, we completed a formative quiz on economics and started a case study assignment about the Canadian entertainment industry (On Google Classroom - due Monday). Chapter 6 assessment - Wednesday, March 21st
Italy's Election CE due MONDAY!  
*Don't forget about Homeroom Wars on March 21st! Check your closet for what we planned in class ;) 

Social 9E - Today, we talked about why governments get involved in the economy and had some time to catch up on assigned work  Chapter 6 assessment - Wednesday, March 21st

All Social Classes: Global CO2 Emissions for 5 BONUS marks  due April 14th 8B - Chapter 8 Test Monday 8D - Chapter 8 Test Monday 8F - The Giver - finish the book (chapters 18-23) and any assigned tasks: due Wednesday 9E - Marketing  - identify one ad (share with Ms. K); Consumerism and Boycotts: read pages 257-263 for Monday (make your own notes) 9G - Marketing - identify one ad (share with Ms. K); Consumerism and Boycotts: read pages 257-263 for Monday (make your own notes) Grade 9s: Interesting article on Climate Change  and human rights 9E and 9G: check Powerschool to see what you are missing! Term 3 marks are due next week and will be used to register you for Grade 10 classes, April 20-23.  Grade 9s - Please bring in High School Registration forms to the office ASAP!  Have an excellent weekend. Monday, December 18th

Here's what we did today -   8B LA   - Today, we started watching the film version of The Giver and are completing an activity comparing it to the book. Please  continue working on The Giver chapter questions and the two projects  for our TIC TAC TOE (Due Dec 21).  8E LA   - Today, we finished The Outsiders! We will start the movie tomorrow. Please make sure that you are caught up on your novel study questions (ch. 1-11) and your TIC TAC TOE (everything is due Dec 21!). 9A Social  - Today, we focused on the individual rights and freedoms that we are guaranteed under the Charter (p. 96-98). We stared creating a poster of these rights (due Thursday) and will have a quiz on them (also on Thursday!) Please make sure that you keep up with the chapter booklet!
