Thursday, February 28th

Here's what happened today: 

8A Homeroom - please return the CSTAD Survey permission form to Mrs. Woronuk as soon as possible. 

Social 8A and 8C: Today we were introduced to chapter 8 and started talking about the social structure of Aztec society. Chapter 8 PDF is on Google Classroom. 
Pink Shirt Day CE due March 5th

Social 8G: Today, we continued looking at chapter 8 which explores the roles of people in Aztec society. We read about the great marketplace in Tenochtitlan and signs of status in Aztec society.

Social 9B: Today, we completed a formative assessment to check in with what we know so far. We also read pages 169-173 about the points system in Canada and worked on our booklet questions.

Here's what happened today:  Social 8A and 8C:  Today, we read about how Japan responded to all the pressure to open their borders. Please review pages 177-179 if needed.  Social 8G:  Today, we talked about the strict roles in Japanese society, including the samurai code of Bushido.  Social  9B:  Today, we continued watching the documentary film, Sicko, which presents some of the differences between public and private health care systems.  All Students: WEM Activity Day Permission Forms are now on Powerschool. Please fill out ASAP to ensure a spot!  Important Dates Coming Up: Friday, May 31st - Activity Day @ WEM Wednesday, June 5th - Early Dismissal and ALL CE DUE
