Here's what happened today: 

Social 8A and 8C: Today, we continued to look at the impact of Spanish defeat on the Aztecs that survived, in particular how it impacted their society moving on.  Chapter 9 assessment: April 24th. 
Russian Military Base CE due April 26th

Social 8G: Today, we discussed disease as a weapon in battle and Spanish strategy when it came to fighting the Aztecs. Chapter 10 assessment: April 25th. 
Russian Military Base CE due April 26th

Social 8C and 8G - permission forms are on Powerschool for our field trip to the Japanese Cultural Center this month! 

Social 9B: Today, we wrote our chapter 6 assessment. 
Russian Military Base CE due April 26th

Friday, April 19th - No School Good Friday
Tuesday, April 23rd - 8G Field Trip

Here's what happened today:  Social 8A and 8C:  Today, we read about how Japan responded to all the pressure to open their borders. Please review pages 177-179 if needed.  Social 8G:  Today, we talked about the strict roles in Japanese society, including the samurai code of Bushido.  Social  9B:  Today, we continued watching the documentary film, Sicko, which presents some of the differences between public and private health care systems.  All Students: WEM Activity Day Permission Forms are now on Powerschool. Please fill out ASAP to ensure a spot!  Important Dates Coming Up: Friday, May 31st - Activity Day @ WEM Wednesday, June 5th - Early Dismissal and ALL CE DUE

LAST BLOG of the YEAR!!!

Thank you, everyone, for the incredible year at ELJHS. As most of you know, this is my last year here as I am moving into administration at Ecole Champs Vallee in Beaumont in September.  I wish you all the best, wherever life takes you.
