Wednesday, November 29th

Here's what we did today - 

8B LA  - Today, we wrote a three sentence prediction about what we think will happen in The Giver and started our character poster of Jonas. 

 8E LA  - Today, we listened to Chapter 1 of The Outsiders. We also started working on the novel study questions and created our character posters that we will work on throughout the novel. 

9A Social -  Today, we started thinking about what topic/issue we will create our political cartoon about. Idea/planning needs to be done for Monday so we can spend time completing it in class. Political Cartoon analysis (on Google Classroom) due tomorrow!

Here's what happened today:  Social 8A and 8C:  Today, we read about how Japan responded to all the pressure to open their borders. Please review pages 177-179 if needed.  Social 8G:  Today, we talked about the strict roles in Japanese society, including the samurai code of Bushido.  Social  9B:  Today, we continued watching the documentary film, Sicko, which presents some of the differences between public and private health care systems.  All Students: WEM Activity Day Permission Forms are now on Powerschool. Please fill out ASAP to ensure a spot!  Important Dates Coming Up: Friday, May 31st - Activity Day @ WEM Wednesday, June 5th - Early Dismissal and ALL CE DUE
