Tuesday, May 22nd

Here's what we did today: 

LA 8B - Today, we started working on our film techniques project with a partner.

LA 8E - Today, we finished watching the film "9" and started working on creating a bumper sticker to showcase a particular mood (feeling) from the movie. We also had our free reading block in the library.

Social 9A -Today, we finished our research activity on Canada's 5 federal political parties. Please make sure it is turned in by tomorrow! We also took a look at the Create your own Political Party project and will continue to work on it all week.  Chapter 8 assessment - May 29th. 

Social 9E -Today, we completed our chapter 8 assessment. Check PowerSchool soon for your marks.
Grade 9s - Galaxyland Activity Day (June 1st) permission forms are on Powerschool. Please be sure to fill it out and pay by May 25th to guarantee your spot for this fantastic day!

Here's what happened today:  Social 8A and 8C:  Today, we read about how Japan responded to all the pressure to open their borders. Please review pages 177-179 if needed.  Social 8G:  Today, we talked about the strict roles in Japanese society, including the samurai code of Bushido.  Social  9B:  Today, we continued watching the documentary film, Sicko, which presents some of the differences between public and private health care systems.  All Students: WEM Activity Day Permission Forms are now on Powerschool. Please fill out ASAP to ensure a spot!  Important Dates Coming Up: Friday, May 31st - Activity Day @ WEM Wednesday, June 5th - Early Dismissal and ALL CE DUE
