Monday, May 14th

Here's what we did today: 

LA 8B - Today, we had our free reading block in the library and started discussing and making predictions about character development for the film, 9.

LA 8E - Today, we started discussing and making predictions about character development for the film, 9. We started to watch the film as well and gathered information to create symbols for each of the characters.

Social 9A -No class today!

Social 9E -Today, we continued to look at political parties and their platforms. Make sure your booklet questions are up to date and completed.
Grade 9s - Galaxyland Activity Day (June 1st) permission forms are on Powerschool. Please be sure to fill it out and pay by May 25th to guarantee your spot for this fantastic day! 

Important Dates Coming Up: 
Tuesday, May 15th - Track Day - dress for the weather, bring water, a hat and sunscreen. There is a concession, so bring some money to buy lunch! 

Friday, May 18th - PD Day: No School
Monday, May 21st - Victoria Day: No School
Thursday, May 31st - Grade 9 Farewell
Friday, June 1st - WEM Activity Day

Final Exam Schedule:
Friday, June 22nd - Language Arts Part B
Monday, June 25 - Math 
Tuesday, June 26th - Social Studies
Wednesday, June 27th - Science

Here's what we did today -   8B LA   - Today, we wrote a three sentence prediction about what we think will happen in The Giver and started our character poster of Jonas.  8E LA   - Today, we listened to Chapter 1 of The Outsiders. We also started working on the novel study questions and created our character posters that we will work on throughout the novel.  9A Social  -   Today, we started thinking about what topic/issue we will create our political cartoon about. Idea/planning needs to be done for Monday so we can spend time completing it in class.
