Thursday, May 10th

Here's what we did today: 

LA 8B - Today, we completed a reading comprehension about Red Pandas as a practice for our final exam. We also started spelling unit E-8 - we will continue to work on it tomorrow.

LA 8E - We had our final block to finish up our essays. Please hand them in if you haven't already. We also had our free reading block in the library.

Social 9A -Today, we looked at the Canadian taxation model and discussed the concepts of tax evasion and the underground economy.

Social 9E - Today, we started to talk about political parties. We took a look at the current platform of the Liberal Party of Canada.

Grade 9s - Galaxyland Activity Day (June 1st) permission forms are on Powerschool. Please be sure to fill it out and pay by May 25th to guarantee your spot for this fantastic day!

Here's what we did today -   8B LA   - Today, we wrote a three sentence prediction about what we think will happen in The Giver and started our character poster of Jonas.  8E LA   - Today, we listened to Chapter 1 of The Outsiders. We also started working on the novel study questions and created our character posters that we will work on throughout the novel.  9A Social  -   Today, we started thinking about what topic/issue we will create our political cartoon about. Wednesday, December 13th

Here's what we did today -   8B LA   - No class today due to assembly! Please  continue working on the two projects  for our TIC TAC TOE (Due Dec 21).  8E LA   - Today, we listened to chapter 10.  Please make sure that you are caught up on your novel study questions (ch. 1-7) and your TIC TACT TOE (everything is due Dec 21!). 9A Social  - No class today due to assembly! Please check Powerschool for your chapter 2 assessment and political cartoon marks.  Supreme Court New Addition due December 19th 9E   Social  - Today, started talking about chapter 3 - Individual Rights and Freedoms Supreme Court New Addition due December 19th Seeing as the Christmas Holidays are right around the corner, ELJHS is participating in their annual Turkey Drive fundraiser again this year. $20 buys a family in need a turkey dinner. Here's what we did today -   8B LA   - Today, we had our free reading block in the library and read chapter 14 of The Giver. Be sure to catch up on the chapter questions over the long weekend!  8E LA   - Today, we listened to Chapter 2 of The Outsiders. We continued working on the novel study questions and created our character posters that we will work on throughout the novel. Please make sure you have the vocab and questions done for chapters 1 and 2! 9A Social  -   No class today!
