Thursday, January 11th

Here's what we did today: 

LA 8B - we had our free reading block and started watching Avatar - we will be studying the film and finding examples of symbolism

LA 8E - we wrote a paragraph about what Symbolism is (on Google Classroom - due tomorrow) and started watching Avatar - we will be studying the film and looking for examples of symbolism. 

Social 9A - No class today! Chapter 3 assessment next Wednesday. Please catch up on booklet.
POLAND CE DUE JANUARY 18TH

Social 9E - Today, we used text-mapping to discuss the charter and law making in Canada.

Wednesday, May 22nd

Here's what happened today:  Social 8A and 8C:  Today, we read about how Japan responded to all the pressure to open their borders. Please review pages 177-179 if needed.  Social 8G:  Today, we talked about the strict roles in Japanese society, including the samurai code of Bushido.  Social  9B:  Today, we continued watching the documentary film, Sicko, which presents some of the differences between public and private health care systems.  All Students: WEM Activity Day Permission Forms are now on Powerschool. Please fill out ASAP to ensure a spot!  Important Dates Coming Up: Friday, May 31st - Activity Day @ WEM Wednesday, June 5th - Early Dismissal and ALL CE DUE
