Thursday, January 18th

Here's what we did today: 

LA 8B - your paragraph about the symbolism in Avatar, as well as your Avatar booklet are both die tomorrow! Please complete tonight if you haven't handed them in already.

LA 8E - Today, we started looking at symbolism in music, by discussing mood and tone. I introduced the song analysis project - please have your song chosen for tomorow!

Social 9A - Today, we talked about the purpose of collective rights and who holds them in Canada. Be sure your vocab sheet and collective rights notes are done for Monday! Chapter 3 assessment marks now on Powerschool.

Wednesday, December 13th

Here's what we did today -   8B LA   - No class today due to assembly! Please  continue working on the two projects  for our TIC TAC TOE (Due Dec 21).  8E LA   - Today, we listened to chapter 10.  Please make sure that you are caught up on your novel study questions (ch. 1-7) and your TIC TACT TOE (everything is due Dec 21!). 9A Social  - No class today due to assembly! Please check Powerschool for your chapter 2 assessment and political cartoon marks.  Supreme Court New Addition due December 19th 9E   Social  - Today, started talking about chapter 3 - Individual Rights and Freedoms Supreme Court New Addition due December 19th Seeing as the Christmas Holidays are right around the corner, ELJHS is participating in their annual Turkey Drive fundraiser again this year. $20 buys a family in need a turkey dinner. Here's what we did today -   8B LA   - Today, we had our free reading block in the library and read chapter 14 of The Giver. Be sure to catch up on the chapter questions over the long weekend!  8E LA   - Today, we listened to Chapter 2 of The Outsiders. We continued working on the novel study questions and created our character posters that we will work on throughout the novel.
