Tuesday, January 9th

Here's what we did today: 

LA 8B - we started our unit on Symbolism by discussing a variety of examples

LA 8E - we started our unit on Symbolism by discussing a variety of examples 

Social 9A - we took one block yo catch up on our chapter 3 booklets - finish page 9! We also discussed the Charter and the law by looking at examples of cases people have brought forward. 

Social 9E - we continued talking about Canada's past by discussing internment camps during WW1 and WW2. 

Important Dates Coming Up: 
Tomorrow - early dismissal (No block 8)
Tuesday, January 30th - Parent Teacher Conferences
Wednesday, January 31st - PD Day

Here's what we did today -   8B LA   - Today, we wrote a three sentence prediction about what we think will happen in The Giver and started our character poster of Jonas.  8E LA   - Today, we listened to Chapter 1 of The Outsiders. Wednesday, December 13th

Here's what we did today -   8B LA   - No class today due to assembly! Please  continue working on the two projects  for our TIC TAC TOE (Due Dec 21).  8E LA   - Today, we listened to chapter 10.  Please make sure that you are caught up on your novel study questions (ch. 1-7) and your TIC TACT TOE (everything is due Dec 21!). 9A Social  - No class today due to assembly! Please check Powerschool for your chapter 2 assessment and political cartoon marks.  Supreme Court New Addition due December 19th 9E   Social  - Today, started talking about chapter 3 - Individual Rights and Freedoms Supreme Court New Addition due December 19th Seeing as the Christmas Holidays are right around the corner, ELJHS is participating in their annual Turkey Drive fundraiser again this year. $20 buys a family in need a turkey dinner. Thursday, November 30th

Here's what we did today -   8B LA   - Today, we had our free reading block in the library and read chapter 14 of The Giver. Be sure to catch up on the chapter questions over the long weekend!  8E LA   - Today, we listened to Chapter 2 of The Outsiders. We continued working on the novel study questions and created our character posters that we will work on throughout the novel. Please make sure you have the vocab and questions done for chapters 1 and 2! 9A Social  -   No class today!
