TGI... Friday, January 19th

Here's what we did today: 

LA 8B - Today, we discussed the song analysis project. Be sure to have a song chosen for Monday!

LA 8E - Today, we saw another example of a song analysis and discussed the 5 paragraph essay structure that you will follow for presenting your information. If you do not have a song chosen yet, please do so over the weekend - gather some research about the song and artist/band for Monday!

Social 9A - No class today! Be sure to complete the Chapter 4 vocabulary sheet and collective rights sheet for Monday!
China Ivory Ban CE DUE January 26th (ALL Q2 Current Events due Fri Jan 26th)

Social 9E - Today, we started discussing what collective rights are - please finish the first page of your booklet. (slides presentation to gather notes is on Google Classroom)

Here's what happened today:  Social 8A and 8C:  Today, we read about how Japan responded to all the pressure to open their borders. Please review pages 177-179 if needed.  Social 8G:  Today, we talked about the strict roles in Japanese society, including the samurai code of Bushido.  Social  9B:  Today, we continued watching the documentary film, Sicko, which presents some of the differences between public and private health care systems.  All Students: WEM Activity Day Permission Forms are now on Powerschool. Please fill out ASAP to ensure a spot!  Important Dates Coming Up: Friday, May 31st - Activity Day @ WEM Wednesday, June 5th - Early Dismissal and ALL CE DUE
