Wednesday, January 17th

Here's what we did today: 

LA 8B - we started working on planning and writing our paragraph about the symbolism in Avatar. We will finish in class tomorrow.

LA 8E - we finished watching Avatar! Be sure to finish up your symbolism booklets for Friday.

Social 9A - we started talking about collective rights and watched a video that focused on the Europeans settling in Canada.
POLAND CE DUE TOMORROW (ALL Q2 Current Events due Fri Jan 26th)

Social 9E - we introduced chapter 4 and started working with the vocabulary terms to help us understand collective rights. Chapter 3 assessment marks now on Powerschool.

Here's what happened today:  Social 8A and 8C:  Today, we read about how Japan responded to all the pressure to open their borders. Please review pages 177-179 if needed.  Social 8G:  Today, we talked about the strict roles in Japanese society, including the samurai code of Bushido.  Social  9B:  Today, we continued watching the documentary film, Sicko, which presents some of the differences between public and private health care systems.  All Students: WEM Activity Day Permission Forms are now on Powerschool. Please fill out ASAP to ensure a spot!  Important Dates Coming Up: Friday, May 31st - Activity Day @ WEM Wednesday, June 5th - Early Dismissal and ALL CE DUE

LAST BLOG of the YEAR!!!

Thank you, everyone, for the incredible year at ELJHS. As most of you know, this is my last year here as I am moving into administration at Ecole Champs Vallee in Beaumont in September.  I wish you all the best, wherever life takes you.
